Save Captain Nemo from the evil Dardell in Nemo’s Secret: Vulcania! After being trapped, it’s up to you and Alice to set Captain Nemo free! Travel to Nemo’s secret volcanic island and discover many of his experiments. Protect the incredible Time Wheel before Dardell can find it and use it for his evil schemes. Use your Hidden Object prowess to find Captain Nemo and save the day in Nemo’s Secret: Vulcania! (BigFish Sales Blurb)

Like the first in the Series, this has a very basic Options, with Regular and Advanced Difficulty Modes, a good Tutorial, a Hint and Skip rechargeable button, and silhouettes of the List Items if you mouse-over the item-name.

The main thing about this game is that it works in Mac, but once again has the misalignment on screen problem in PC.  Instead of to the side of screen and a bit below screen, the game in Mac version sits centre screen with the scene in full view.  Of course, as is the norm with Mac games, the Graphics are a little darker (but clearer) than the PC version.  Now we just need all game producers to put Gamma slide controls in all their games, Mac and PC, and that would take care of that problem.

The game itself is as good as the previous NEMO’S SECRET game, more an Adventure than a Hidden Object game, with Items scattered throughout scenes as well as in Hidden Object sites..  It is enjoyable, interactive, a bit scary at times, and leaning towards SciFi which is always great for the Graphic artwork, and technical ingenuity of the various machines in the story.  Both the story and the Graphics are well imagined and designed – the story thread being of the maniac who wants to take over the world, and the graphics being colourful, and inspiring.

I hope you are able to take advantage of the Mac version, if it won’t open properly placed on your PC.  If you can’t but want to, then contact your provider, or Odian Games online and protest.  There is no reason for this not working in PC – the first NEMO’S SECRET is placed perfectly.

I bought it for Mac.  And I recommend it.

About judsartwork

I write reviews of Adventure and Hidden Object games that are Crime, Fantasy, SciFi, Renovation, Travel, Quest and/or Mystery by genre. I have a Masters in Writing (2006) and have been writing novels, both crime and fantasy for many years; plus Haiku, verse, and prose both fictional and literary. I am also an artist of modern, Acrylic, textural and hard edge work, underwater, fantasy, expressionist, and Cosmos paintings. I use mixed media (Acrylic, Watercolour, Pastels) in textural Monoprints, finding surprises to expose within each work. Having both an analytical and creative mind has meant that I have strong powers of observation, and the persistence required to follow computer problems through till I solve them. Of course I am not always successful, but am willing to ask for a little help in order to then unlock the main problem myself. My Troubleshooting Blog, 'Problems and Solutions', was the result of my tenacity.
