Take on the role of beloved murder-mystery writer Jessica Fletcher and return to lovely (but lethal) Cabot Cove! In Case 1, a prominent gallery owner is found stabbed in the back, and Jessica must distinguish friend from foe. Intrigue abounds in Case 2 when the philanthropic president of the local charity is electrocuted to death. It’s up to Jessica to discover whether the motive was love, money or power. Jessica decides that she needs a vacation after all the mayhem and murder in her hometown, but Case 3 finds her embroiled in a mystery involving James Joyce! (BigFish Sales Blurb)

This second game in the MURDER SHE WROTE series is an improvement on the original one, while maintaining a similar format.  They have greatly improved the Graphics including the development of CG characters, increased the Crime/ Adventure/ Investigation elements, but with less sites to search, and less crimes to investigate.  There are only 3 Cases to solve in this game – Masterpiece of Murder; Morse Lodge Murder; and Finnigan’s Fake.

As before you have to find the vowel typewriter keys in order to complete the Hidden Object lists in the HO sites – but you can guess what they are fairly easily and locate them without the keys.  However, I treated finding the keys as part of the HO process, so found them all anyway, so I don’t know if the HO site needs them in order to be considered complete.  The Graphics are excellent and suit the Maine location and characters very well.  I do wish the graphics in these HO sites were a little clearer – I don’t know why the designers feel the need to blur these graphics when the rest are absolutely fine.

The game-play is a little frustrating at times, as you click on things you expect to react only to find that you need to do something else first – a common FF in many games.  The clicking on HOs is slow – you need to wait as each HO is put away before you can click on the next one.  And there is a glitch in the Glass Window Puzzle in Case 2 – the screen froze upon completion, so I had to CrtlAltDel, stop game running in Task Manager, then Restart the Game to fix it.

Despite these, the game was enjoyable and I bought it to add to my Crime Collection.  I recommend it.
